Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) is located in Tehran, Iran. In 1851, Dar-ol-Fonoon was created with medicine as one of its main subjects.
The first modern center of medical training in Iran was founded in 1851. It was a part of the Institute of Higher Education (Dar-ol-Fonoon). The School of Medicine was established as a part of University of Tehran in 1934. After the Islamic Revolution, medical schools and departments associated with medical fields were separated from the Ministry of Higher Education and were taken under the administration of the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education. Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (SBUMS) is one of the three medical universities in Tehran, the capital of Iran. Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS) is one of the largest public medical universities in Iran, founded in 1974 in Tehran, located near Milad Tower, which is the sixth-tallest tower in the World. As of 1986, the University conducts all academic activities under the administrative authority of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education.
It is among the most well-known academic health centers both nationally and regionally. Its students rank among the top 1% of Iran’s students in the national ranking entrance exams for universities.

The Hospital of Moheb-e-Kosar was established in 2013 with the aim of providing specialized services. The hospital, with a capacity of 200 beds, is located on a plot of 3700 square meters in 11 floors in Yousef Abad.
